Selected Collaborations

Tom Petty Estate — Residential Atmosphere Design

Halsonus was invited to shape the atmosphere of the Malibu home of Tom and Dana Petty as it prepared to come to market. Brain Wave candles and essential oils were placed throughout the home to create a quiet, immersive experience for visitors, realtors, and prospective buyers.

Each space was approached with intention, using scent to support the natural rhythm and feeling of the home. The goal was not to draw attention to fragrance itself, but to shape perception—enhancing presence, memory, and emotional connection.

Wrabel — Album Release Experience

Halsonus partnered with recording artist Wrabel to shape the atmosphere for an intimate album release event celebrating Up Above.

An ALPHA environment was selected—fresh, expansive, and grounding—to support relaxed attention and emotional openness. The space was layered with essential oil diffusion and candles, creating a setting that allowed guests to settle, connect, and fully receive the live performance.

The evening opened with our founder, Maranda, sharing a brief guided meditation, designed to help the room arrive—shifting from external pace into presence, and preparing the nervous system to engage more deeply with the music.

Founder

Halsonus was founded by psychotherapist Maranda Barskey, whose work sits at the intersection of psychology, sensory perception, and design.

Her background spans the arts, movement, and clinical practice, with a history of leading workshops and collaborations for Genesis, Paul Smith, Josie Maran Cosmetics, The Standard Hotel, and touring with Childish Gambino.

Her work focuses on how subtle, well-timed inputs can shift internal state and influence how environments are perceived.
